*Message from Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on the occasion of Bonalu Festival on 20.07.2020 *
I extend hearty festive greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of traditional State Festival of Bonalu, a major native festival of the people celebrated for centuries.
I wish that the people of Telangana celebrate the traditional festival of Bonalu with fervour and festivity by offering Bonam to the presiding deity of Mahankali at the temples, but for the prevailing Covid-19 situation. I therefore appeal all the devotees to offer the sacred Bonam to deity Mahankali at your home and celebrate the festival in a safe way. The goddess Mahankali will definitely come to our rescue and help us to overcome the challenges of the pandemic.
