*CM alerts officials over heavy rainfall and floods* Priority should be given to shift people to safer places:CM
Amaravati, Aug 19:A.P. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today conducted a review meeting on flood situation in the state, witnessing heavy rain fall and increasing flood flow at various projects. He directed officials to shift the people from low lying areas to safer places in view of incessant rains and floods. He asked the officials to act in coordination with State disaster management and real time governance to provide relief to the flood victims and make arrangements to supply food and water to the people in flood affected region.
The Chief Minister said officials should be alert and monitor the flood situation continuously. Officials should prevent people from crossing overflowing causeways and bridges. Praising the services of Armed forces in flood affected areas, the Chief Minister said officials should make alternate arrangements in case of collapsed and washed away bridges to restore transport facility.
Responding to snake bite incidents, the Chief Minister directed the medical and health department officials to make available anti-venom injections in all primary health centres to save the lives of people. He said farmers who are busy in agricultural operations should be alert to prevent snake bite incidents.
The Chief Minister said officials of Krishna, East and West Godavari, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts should be more alert as these districts are receiving heavy rain fall.
