Prime decisions by Telangana State Cabinet

  • State cabinet meeting conducted under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken several decisions.

 

* Cabinet decided to organise Palle Pragati and Pattana Pragati programmes from May 20 to June 5.

* The state cabinet here on Tuesday approved the proposal to Chennuru lift irrigation scheme aiming to provide irrigation and drinking water to 103 villages in Chennuru assembly constituency.

The government sanctioned Rs 1658 crore for the scheme for which 10 TMC of river Godavari water would be utilised from Kaleshwaram project.

Under the scheme, irrigation facilities would be provided to 90,000 acres. From Parvati barrage, irrigation water would be supplied to 25,423 acres in Jaipur and Mandamarri mandals,  Around 43,208 acres would be provided irrigation facility in Chennur, Bhimaram and Kotapally mandals  from Saraswati barrage. The water would be supplied to 16,370 acres in Kotapally mandal uner Laxmi barrage.

* Cabinet approved for establishment 5 more Private Universities  among those, CII- AMITY , MNR , Gurunak,  NICMAR and Kaveri universities..are there.

The establishment of  Pharma and Aviation universities was also proposed.

* The cabinet approved the abolition of GO 111.

A Committee headed by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar would be constituted to look into the scrapping of GO 111 and conserve  environment around the Hyderabad city which comes under the  purview of GO 111.

The government would also initiate measures to improve the Shamshabad international airport which emerged as the fourth largest airport. The construction of Second runway on the North side of the airport would be taken up soon.

The enhancement of age limit to 65 years for Medical colleges professors already approved.

The cabinet gave nod to the appointment of  Director medical education,  professors, Directors, Additional directors in medical education.

The age limit would be increased by 3 years for aspirants who applied for job in police departments.

The cabinet also approved the scrapping of interviews in the group one and group two  posts.

* In a move to end the plights of the paddy farmers cabinet has decided to buy all yasangi paddy from the farmers from Wednesday.

A four member official committee consisting of chief secretary, Finance, Agriculture, civil supplies, and irrigation Secretaries would study the entire issue of paddy procurement by the state government. And the government will buy all paddy at MSP price of Rs 1960 per quintal and deposit money in their bank accounts.
