Dhanwantari Foundation International, in association with Brahmin Associations of Telangana State to take out ‘Shobha Yatra’ in city tomorrow for Brahmin Welfare Corporation

Dhanwantari Foundation International, in association with all the Brahmin Associations of Telangana State, is planning to take out a “Sobha Yatra” from Sundarayya Park, Bagh Lingampalli to Indira Park on Saturday, 27th August, 2016. The participants would assemble at 10.00 a.m. at Sundarayya Park and proceed in a rally to Indira Park. A public meeting will be held at Indira Park. After conclusion of the meeting, it is proposed to meet the Hon’ble Chief Minister and submit a Memorandum requesting him to fulfil the promises made for the benefit of Brahmin community.

During the Telangana State Budget Session, the matter with regard to establishment of Brahmin Welfare Corporation was discussed and a decision was taken in principle to establish the Corporation and to release a sum of Rupees one hundred crores. A two member committee was also constituted to suggest guidelines in this regard. It was also decided to allocate a sum of Rupees ten crores for construction of Brahmin Bhavan.

Though two years have elapsed after the formation of the Government, no concrete action has been taken in this regard. Five months have already elapsed in the current financial year and any further delay in this regard would deprive the student community in getting scholarships.

It is necessary that all the Brahmin Associations in the State of Telangana should come together and pressurise the Government to take immediate decision to create the Brahmin Welfare Corporation and to release the promised funds.
