TSWREIS Launches Life Skills Studios
The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) is at the forefront in crossing the boundaries of traditional classroom teaching methods and leading the students to assume leadership roles as global citizens of the 21st century. The Society has begun another novel concept in its schools with the introduction of ‘Life Skills Studio’. In each school, a life skill studio will be established in which dining table, bed, cot, table, chair, set of plates, cutlery, wardrobe, dressing table, etc are furnished. The children will be trained on basic etiquettes, table manners, communication skills, personal hygiene, personal grooming, telephone etiquettes, etc. This initiative is first of its kind in the government education sector in India.
The programme has been initiated to ignite the minds of the poor students from rural background to think big and aim high life, said Dr R.S. Praveen Kumar, Secretary, TSWREIS while inaugurating the programme at Narsingi school. The Secretary thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for Scheduled Caste Development, Sri G. Jagadish Reddy for their support to the innovative initiatives being taken up by the Society. Suma and Anil Vasudevan from A CUBE Services conducted classes for select teachers who in turn provide training to their students in their respective schools.
Yours sincerely
