Undi (West Godavari): Cinema actor and writer Posani Krishnamurali said that YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was a sincere and committed leader. These exceptional traits attracted him towards his leadership. Posani met YS Jagan who is on his mass contact initiative, Praja Sankalpa Yatra here today in West Godavari district.
Speaking to media after meeting the mass leader, Posani said he was profoundly impressed by YS Jagan’s determination and hence he had decided to participate in the padayatra alongside the Leader of Opposition. He said that the YSRCP Chief was the only leader who will solve the problems of all the communities.
“YS Jagan’s walkathon will be part of history. It is no mean task to walk 3,000 kilometers in this scorching heat just to understand the problems of the people. I wasn’t able to walk even three kilometers,” he said. Posani said that YS Jagan was determined to address the problems of the people and called upon the public to vote for YSRCP and make YS Jagan the next Chief Minister of AP.
Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy expressed confidence that Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan would accept the resignations of all the five YSRCP MPs. He recalled the relentless fight by their party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for getting Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and said YS Jagan had met Prime Minister and several union ministers in this regard.
Talking to media here today, the YSRCP MP said all the MPs who had resigned would stand by their decision and would force them to accept their resignations. He recalled the fact that in protest against not granting SCS to AP, the YSRCP had moved a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha and also had garnered support of different national parties on this. But the notice was not put for discussion in the House. He said many leaders who ridiculed the no-confidence motion of YSRCP, later changed their stance.
Mekapati said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was afraid that he would have to face arrest. Hence, he did not ask his party MPs to resign. Chandrababu was an ally of BJP and demanded an increase in the number of assembly seats as well as Special Package, he said. He added that after realising that it was of no use, he was now searching for new friends.
The YSRCP leader said that Chandrababu had been a self-centred figure who befriended selfish politicians and was never bothered about state’s welfare. He questioned if the TDP Chief had any moral and ethical responsibility. He said that after having poached 23 MLAs and three MPs, he has no standing to talk about ethics. “The people in the state have been observing everything and they should vote only for the party which would strive for the people’s welfare. All the political fronts are a confused lot and YSRCP is not in alliance with any front,” he added.
