C.M. assures to complete and inaugurate the port in two years*
Mekavanipalem, Machilipatnam, Feb 7: The decades-old dream of people of Machilipatanam coastal region come true today as A.P. Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu unveiled pylon marking commencement of Machilipatnam deep water port works here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said people of the region migrated to other places in search of livelihood in the past. Now the scene will be reversed with the development of Machilipatnam port. He said migration of people to Machilipatnam from other parts of the country starts with the completion of the port. Seeking the cooperation of farmers for speedy completion of the port, the Chief Minister assured to inaugurate the port within two years.
All praise for Navayuga: Praising the efficiency of Navayuga company, the Chief Minister said the company successfully completed the Krishnapatnam port and entered Guinness book of world record by completing highest volume of concrete works of Polavaram project on a single day. The Chief Minister said that the people of the region carried out agitations seeking Machilpatnam port for hundreds of days.
The Chief Minister said the Machilipatnam port would lead to development of Amaravati capital. Besides the interlock regions of Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka depend on the Machilipatnam port in a big way for their export operations. He said with the completion of the port, port based industries would be developed providing employment opportunities to local people, which leads to boost in the economy of the region.
Machilipatnam MP K Narayana rao, Minister Kollu Ravindra, deputy speaker Mandali Budha prasad, Machilipatnam urban development authority chairman Buragadda Vedavyas , MLC B Arjunudu, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha, Collector Lakshmikantam and others were present.
