Telangana State Council of Science & Technology is organizing the program “National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC)” in Telangana State with the sponsorship and as per the guidelines of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India by involving School going / Dropout students in the age group of 10-17 years to inculcate Scientific temper and to orient the students towards research activities through Learning by doing Scientific Projects.
As a part of the 31st NCSC 2023, TSCOST organized the State Level Training Workshop for resource teachers in association with the School Education Department and State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) on 05-08-2023 at BPR Vithal Auditorium of Center for Economics and Social Studies (CESS), Begumpet, Hyderabad.
The objective of the workshop is to sensitize the NCSC fraternity present all over Telangana State about the salient features of the focal theme of 31st NCSC-2023 as well as organizational aspects and guidelines of NCSC.
Marupaka Nagesh, Member Secretary, TSCOST, Government of Telangana & State Coordinator for NCSC, presiding over the event, informed that the Govt. of India declared “Understanding Ecosystem for Health & Well Being” as focal theme of 31st NCSC 2023. Member Secretary, TSCOST informed that Scientific attitude and thinking paves the way for marching towards making India a Developed Nation.
Resource persons Dr. Syeda Azim Unnisa, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Osmania University and Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi, Incharge Head, Institute of Genetics & Hospital for Genetic Diseases, OU, Hyderabad delivered lectures on the importance of NCSC and its significance in transforming young minds towards scientific thinking and research. The Resource Persons also guided the District Coordinators, District Academic Coordinators on various aspects of NCSC and gave detailed analysis on this year’s focal theme and sub themes.
M. Samba Siva Reddy & Dr. C.V. Rama Krishna, Project Officers, TSCOST along with other Officers and Staff of TSCOST and NCSC functionaries such as District Coordinators, District Academic Coordinators and Resource Persons from all over the state have participated in the above workshop.
