(Message by Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Telangana)
First, I salute & bow my head as mark of respect to all the great patriotic people of our proud Nation who sacrificed their precious lives for our Nation’s Independence.
I take this opportunity to convey my wishes to all on 74thIndependence Day& specially to people of Telangana.
It is a great moment of pride to feel the value of our democracy & constitution which empowers every citizen.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi – A responsible citizen who spent many years in public life (13 years as Chief Minister and 6 years as Prime Minister) has been a reason for our Nation’s inspiration & dedication to motivate our people especially youths.
Narendra Modi Independence Day speeches past 19 years (Chief Minister 13 years and Prime Minister 6 years) are marked with mission, expectations, delivery of people welfare focused good governance& Nation first services. A humble person who delivered development through implementation of maximum welfare schemes for people especially poor.
His speech on every Independence Day is marked with passion, patriotism & dedication delivering “sabkasath, sabkavikas, sabkavishwas”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated various proactive measures to protect our Nation and people from COVID19 has showcased the potential of our Nation & services minded citizens stood as a great example worldwide. thus, highlighted to the entire world about India’s ability to rise from such pandemic crisis.
Special thanks to all state governments, government officials and Nation welfare caring citizens who made it possible and supported our great Nation always in every step of development.

Highlights:
- The country is today filled with confidence, it is scaling new heights
- The Constitution given to us by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar speaks about justice for all. We have to ensure social justice for all and create an India that is developing rapidly:
- On behalf of the people of India, I bow to all those great women and men who sacrificed themselves for the nation during the freedom movement
- The demand for higher MSP was pending for years. With the blessings of the farmers, the decision on MSP was taken by our Government:
- The OROP demand was pending for decades. The people of India, our brave army personnel had faith in us and we were able to take a decision on OROP
- We can take tough decisions as interests of the nation are supreme for us:
- From being seen as among the fragile five, India is now the land of reform, perform and transform. We are poised for record economic growth
- Northeast is witnessing unprecedented development today
- Our focus is on farmer welfare, we are modernizing the agriculture sector

- Launching NavIC, the first indigenous Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS). This navigation system will guide fishermen and other citizens through Satellite signals

- Tough steps on corruption saved Rs 90,000 Cr INR for Nation
- Honest tax payers increased from 4 Cr to 6.75 Cr people

Aug 15th 2019(73rd Independence Day):
Highlights:
- It has been under ten weeks since the new Government was formed but several pathbreaking decisions have been taken
- By abrogating Articles 370 and 35A, we have fulfilled Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s dream:
- We are also working to provide inclusive development to the tribal communities, minorities and all sections of the society
- The spirit of ‘One Nation, One Constitution’ has become a reality in India

Initiatives& Achievements:
- Revoke Article 370 and 35A
- law against Triple Talaq to protect the rights of our Muslim women
- major amendments in laws to counter terrorism and to make it more stringent and powerful
- Transfer of approximately 90,000 crores of rupees to the bank accounts of farmers who are beneficiaries of PM KisanSamman Nidhi Yojana.
- Jal Shakti Mission (Tap water for all households)
- Ease of Living (1450 obsolete laws repealed in 5 years & within 60 laws repealed in 10 weeks)
- 100 Lakhs Crore for modern infrastructure
- Chief of Defence Staff- CDS and after formation of this post all the three forces will get effective leadership at the top level.
- NO single use of Plastic
As a continuation of these schemes, this Independence day celebrations will be a remarkable one.
As we have faced the most critical situation of Covid-19 with brave faces, Prime Minister announced proactive measures to save the economy which was strained during this pandemic. By introducing 20 Lakh crores assistance to MSME and one lakh crore to farm sector, now the country is moving towards self reliance. Once mentioned as poor country now became “power country” which exports PPE Kits, Medicines and Masks to hundreds of other countries. I salute my Nation. The great nation will move forward more confidently under the leadership of our Prime Minister with self reliance and self respect. I am proud of my country not only as first citizen of Telangana, but one among the proud citizen of this great country. Each and every one of us should take responsibility in one way or other to contribute to the development of our country. Let us serve and celebrate this Independence Day.
