Visakhapatnam: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that YSRCP will contribute Rs 1 crore to Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
YS Jagan had earlier expressed his solidarity with the people of Kerala and said his heart went out to the people who had become victims of nature’s fury. He had taken to social media on Saturday and said, “My heart goes out to the people of Kerala battling floods. My prayers are with our brothers and sisters of Kerala and wish they resume normal life soon.”
The YSRCP Chief called upon Central government to extend full and unconditional support to Kerala people as well as for rehabilitation programmes.
Despite rains all over the route of Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy continued with his padayatra in Visakhapatnam district. Right from morning it has been raining continuously but that did not deter the YSRCP Chief who started his day 241 of his mass outreach programme, Praja Sankalpa Yatra from Dharmasagaram.
Even the people lining the Padayatra route, including women seemed unmindful of the rain and were seen waiting in long queues to have a glimpse of the people’s leader. Many joined YS Jagan to walk alongside the YSRCP chief and expressed their support to him.
Later former MLA Kumba Ravi Babu met YS Jagan during the padayatra and narrated the problems faced by the tribal communities in the region. Students of nursing courses also met the leader of opposition and brought to his notice the problems they faced. The nursing students criticised the present TDP government and said that till date the government had not issued a single job notification. They expressed confidence that once YS Jagan becomes the Chief Minister they would get government jobs.
YS Jagan padayatra has entered Uratla in Payakaraopet constituency.
