This year the Final Mammoth Ganesh Idol Immersion Procession will start on 15-09-2016 (Thursday) from various places of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to Hussain Sagar lake and other places. On that day thousands of Ganesh Idols from Hyderabad and Cyberabad, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahaboob Nagar Districts are expected to be Immersed in Hussain Sagar Lake.

Forces of all the Units of Hyderabad City Police viz., Law and Order, Traffic, Special Branch, Task Force, City Security Wing, City Armed Reserve have been pressed into service in making security and bandobust arrangements.
In addition to the deployment of above Police Forces, services of about 2,000 Volunteers, including NCC/NSS cadets are being used on Final immersion day
Emergency response teams are being stationed at strategic locations in the route
They are deployed for bandobust for Ganesh Pandals, Mosques, important junctions, immersion points and other places of requirement.
The Force and Officers deployed have been chosen in such that they had previous experience of Ganesh bandobust and knowledge of sensitive and hypersensitive areas.
310 Hypersensitive and 605 Sensitive places have been identified for which pickets have been posted. Total 410 Mobile Parties are moving in the area for smooth conduct of the Ganesh Festival.
Last year-2015, 10,980 Ganesh Idols were permitted to be installed in various public places.
This year-2016, 11094 Ganesh Idols were permitted to be installed in various public places.
The City Security Wing of Hyderabad City Police is deploying 23 Bomb Disposal Teams, 2 Access Control Teams at important Ganesh Pandal and Ganesh Temples. They are equipped with DFMDs, HFMDs, Prodder, Deep Search mine detector, under carriage mirror, explosive detector etc. The Anti-Sabotage Teams will be using the services of 23 Sniffer Dogs.
Anti-Sabotage measures like Vehicle checking and frisking at entry points to the City and at important junctions and checking at important crowded places viz., Railway Stations, Bus Stations, Shopping malls, Cinema Halls, Hotels, Restaurants etc., are being undertaken.
Meetings were conducted by the Government, Telangana State, Hyderabad with Ganesh Utsav Samithi Members apart from number of meetings with DCsP and above and with all Inspectors and ACsP of City Police.
All bandobust arrangements are being made taking police Station as basic unit.
We identified need for 51 Static Cranes as follows.
1. NTR Marg – 12 + 4Reserve = 16
2. Tankbund – 23 + 2Reserve = 25
3. Ministers Road – 3 = 03
4. Rajanna Bowli – 3 = 03
5. Miralam Tank and Errakunta Tank – 2 each.
6. Further need for 91 Mobile Cranes have been identified for the Final day.
7. Mobile generators, Mobile Cranes, Ambulances, Medical Teams, Fire Tenders, Spare Vehicles, Mechanic Teams, Public Address Systems are being stationed at all the important and strategic Junctions.
8. Requested for teams of repairers/mechanics apart from shift duty drivers from TSRTC.
Constant liaison has been established with GHMC, Irrigation Department, R&B, Transport Department, TSRTC, Metro Water and TSPDCL.
Main Joint Control Room has been established at Sardar Mahal, GHMC, Hyderabad which started functioning from 05-09-2016. It will function till conclusion of final immersion on 16-09-2016. Apart from that, three more Joint Control Rooms will function from 07:00 am on 15-09-2016 to 12.00 Noon on 16-09-2016 at 1. Main Police Control Room, Basheerbagh, 2. NTR Marg and 3. Gandhi Nagar, Outpost Tankbund.
Stern action will be taken against those who make provocative speeches or circulate CDs etc. Such material i.e., CDs, pamphlets will be seized and legal action will be taken.
SHE teams and Crime teams are being deployed to prevent eve teasing and to proceed safety to the people
Roof tops with communication sets and sophisticated Binoculars are stationed in the route
550 Additional Wireless sets have been deployed in addition to the existing 4000 no. of sets.
The event is being covered by more than 800 Video Cameras, some of which will be monitored on a real time basis from Control Room.
All steps are being taken to ensure that rumors of any kind are nipped at the bud.
We are enlisting the cooperation of the Peace Committee members and Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi for maintaining peace and harmony in the City.
We appeal to citizens of Hyderabad all for harmony and brotherhood among Hindus and Muslims to uphold the great traditions of this City.
ROUTE OF THE MAIN PROCESSION
The Main Procession on 15-09-2016 will start at Keshavagiri and proceed towards Hussain Sagar via Chandrayangutta, Chatrinaka, Lal Darwaza , Nagulchintha, Shahalibanda, Moghalpura, Charminar, Gulzar Houz & Pathergatti ( South zone ) Afzalgunj, Siddiamber Bazar, M.J.Market (East Zone), Abids and Basheerbagh (Central Zone). The other processions coming from Balapur, Pahadi Sharif , Maheswaram, Mahankali etc. of R.R. District will join the main procession at Keshavagiri. The procession, which starts at Aliabad will pass through Syed Ali Chabutra and join the main procession at Shahalibanda. Small processions from the neighbouring areas like Engine Bowli, Falaknuma will join the procession at Aliabad. Tributary processions coming from Gowlipura, Chandulal Bela, Hari Bowli will join the main procession at Nagulchinta.
The processions coming from old Kabutara Khana, Shahgunj, Chelapura and Alijah Kotla which pass through sensitive areas like Hussain Alam, Chowk Mosque, Ladbazar, Etiibar Chowk will join the main procession at Charminar. The procession which starts at Indira Seva Sadan (Santosh Nagar Cross Roads ) will pass through Saidabad, Govt. Printing Press, Police Hospital (Malakpet), Nalgonda x road, Chaderghat, Victoria Play Grounds, Puthlibowli x roads, Jambagh and join the main procession at M.J.Market. Small processions of neighbouring areas like Santosh Nagar, Saroor Nagar, Dilsuk Nagar, Karman ghat etc. will join the procession at Saidabad x Roads and Nalgonda x roads.
Some Tributary processions which start from various localities also join the main procession at different points i.e at Lal Darwaza, Nagulchintha, Charminar, Afzalgunj, M.J.Market, Liberty x roads etc. Some small processions will directly go to Hussain Sagar for immersion.
The procession from West Zone areas of Mehdipatnam, Langer House, Tappachabutra, Karwan, Puranapul, Jummerat Bazar and Begum Bazar also join the main procession at M.J.Market. Another procession from Mehdipatnam passes through Mallepally X roads and Bazarghat and joins at M.J.Market. Yet another procession starts from S.R.Nagar and passes through Panjagutta, Somajiguda, Khairtabad, Iqbal Minor, Secretariat and reaches NTR Marg. Simlarly, there will be smaller processions from Secunderabad and Hyderabad reaching the Hussain Sagar Lake.
TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
No traffic other than the idols’ procession will be allowed to move on the Main Procession route between 0900 hrs on the 15-09-2016 to 0800 hours on 16-09-2016. The traffic restrictions will be extended if the situation so demands.
II) TRAFFIC DIVERSION POINTS: Movements of vehicles other than those carrying Ganesh Idols will be restricted and diverted at many points along the main procession route and at other points adjoining the routes of other tributary processions. Facility to cross from the West to East or vice versa is given at the Basheerbagh Junction only. Commuters are advised to use the Ring Road and Begumpet area to avoid diversions. All the side roads leading to the Main Procession route will be barricaded. The main traffic diversion points are:
1) HYDERABAD SOUTH : Keshavagiri, Mahaboobnagar X Roads, Engine Bowli, Nagul Chintha, Himmathpura, Hari Bowli, Asra Hopsital, Mogulpura, Lakkad Kote, Madina X Road, MJ Bridge, Dar Ul Shifa X Roads, City College.
2) HYDERABAD EAST : Chanchalguda Jail X Roads, Moosarambagh, Chaderghat Bridge, Salarjung Bridge (Shivaji Bridge) , Afzalgunj, Puthilibowli X Roads, Troop Bazar, Jambagh X Roads, Andhra Bank Koti.
3) HYDERABAD WEST: Tope Khana Mosque, Alaska Hotel Junction, Osman gunj, Sanker Bagh and Seena Hotel, Ajantha Gate near Exhibition Grounds, Abkari Lane, Taj Island, Barthan Bazar, , AR Petrol Pump at KLK Building.
4) HYDERABAD CENTRAL: Chappel Road Entry, Gadwal Centre at the GPO, Shalimar Theatre, Gun foundry, Skyline Road Entry, Bharath Scouts & Guides Junction in Domalguda, Kalanjali at Control Room, Liberty Junction, MCH Office Y junction, BRK Bhavan junction near Telugu Thalli Junction, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Dwaraka Hotel Junction, Khairatabad Junction (Visweswaraiah Statue), Children’s Park, Viceroy Hotel junction, Kawadiguda Junction, Musheeerabad x road, RTC X road, Katta Maisamma Temple at Lower Tank Bund, Indira Park Junction.
5) HYDERABAD NORTH (Secunderabad ): Traffic will not be allowed to enter the Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from Karbala Maidan, Buddha Bhavan, Sailing Club, Nallagutta Junction. The traffic will be diverted at the following points from 0600 hrs on 15-09-2016 to 0800 hrs on 16-09-2016.
CTO, YMCA, Paradise X Roads, Patny X Roads, Bata X Roads, Adavaiah X Roads, Ghans Mandi X Roads.
III. PARKING PLACES AROUND THE IMMERSION POINTS FOR ONLOOKERS:
The public coming to watch the Ganesh Immersion in Hussain Sagar Lake have to park their vehicles in the following notified places.Therefore, people are requested to park their vehicles in the places mentioned below and proceed by foot to the places of immersion:
1) Institute of Engineers at Khairatabad Jn.
2) MMTS Station Khairatabad.
3) Anand Nagar Colony to RR Dist. ZP Office.
4) Back side of Buddha Bhavan
5) Goseva Sadan
6) Lower Tank Bund
7) Katta Maisamma Temple
8) NTR Stadium
9) Nizam College
10) Public Gardens
IV) LORRIES :
1) EXIT ROUTE FOR EMPTY TRUCKS / LORRIES AFTER IMMERSION :
a) After immersion on the NTR Marg, the empty trucks / lorries should proceed to their destination via Necklace Rotary – Khairtabad flyover – V.V.Statue – KCP and onwards. They will be not allowed to return towards Telugu Talli statue or Mint Compound road.
b) After immersion on the Upper Tank Bund, the empty trucks/lorries should proceed towards Children’s Park – DBR Mills – Kawadiguda – Musheerabad. No lorry shall go through the Bible House Rail over Bridge
2) RESTRICTIONS ON INTER STATE / DISTRICT LORRIES: Inter State and Inter District Lorries are not allowed to enter the Hyderabad City on the intervening night of 15/16-09-2016. Their movement will be terminated on the outskirts of the city during the Final day of Ganesh Immersion process.
V) RTC BUSES : 1) RTC city service buses: The regulations mentioned in the Para (II) i.e. Traffic Diversion Points will apply to the RTC City Region buses. When the procession reaches its peak, the RTC Buses will not be allowed beyond the following junctions towards Hussain Sagar Lake.
1) Masab Tank (Mehdipatnam buses)
2) V.V.Statue (Kukatpally buses)
3) CTO, Plaza, SBH, Clock Tower, Chilkalguda x road (Secunderabad buses)
4) Ramanthapur T.V.Station.
5) Gaddiannaram, Chaderghat (Dilsuknagar buses)
6) Danamma Huts (Rajendra Nagar)
7) I.S.Sadan (Midhani buses)
8) YMCA Narayanaguda (Inter City Special Buses)
9) Tarnaka (No RTC Bus shall be allowed beyond Tarnaka Junction towards Jamia Osmania Flyover)
2) Inter State / District Buses to reach the MGBS at Imlibun
a. Coming from Rajeev Rahadari and NH-7 should go via JBS –YMCA -Sangeet x road- Tarnaka – Jamia Osmania flyover – Nimboliadda – Chaderghat.
b. Coming from Bangalore should go via Aramgarh x road – Chandrayangutta X Road – I.S.Sadan – Nalgonda x Road – Chaderghat
c. Coming from Mumbai/NH 9 should go via Godrej ‘Y’ Junction – Narasapur X Roads – Bowenpally – JBS – YMCA – Sangeeth – Tarnaka, Jamia Osmania fly over – Adikmet – Nimboliadda.
The movements of the above Inter State/District buses will not be permitted after 1000 hours on 15-09-2016 to 0600 hours on 16-09-2016.
The APSRTC authorities will provide alternative routes convenient to them keeping in view the restriction imposed on the movement of vehicular traffic on the roads notified above.
VI. PRIVATE BUSES: Private Buses should operate from their locations out side the City.
VII. All people coming from Airport or going to Airport should avoid using Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Tank Bund Road and Road from Ambedhkar Statue to Falaknuma Main Route for procession as shown in Map. Similarly people going or coming from Railway station / Bus stand also avoid in these roads.
