
Hyderabad, April 11: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday took part in the celestial ceremony of Sri Rama Pattabhishekam at the Bhadradri temple at Bhadrachalam temple town.
She stated that she was blessed to witness the divine ceremony at the historic temple and called for the promotion of ideal human values that which Lord Sri Rama personified.
The Governor also offered the “Pattu Vastralu” to the deities on the auspicious occasion of the Pattabhishekam (coronation ceremony).
Earlier, Dr. Tamilisai Soundarararajan had the darshan of the presiding deities at the sanctum sanctorum of the Bhadradri temple and offered prayers.
Speaking to the media, the Governor stated that she had prayed for the wellbeing of all and the all-round prosperity and development of the State and the nation.
“It was a divine experience to witness the traditional Pattabhishekam and I am feeling truly blessed to take part in the festivities in connection with the Sri Rama Navami and the Sri Rama Pattabhishekam,” she said.
The priests who performed the Pattabhishekam ceremony performed the ashirvachanam to the Governor and presented her with the temple prasadam.
Train Journey from Hyderabad:
The Governor, late on Sunday night, boarded the train at Secunderabad junction and arrived at Kothagudem on the early hours of the Monday.
When she got down from the train at Kothagudem railway station, many surprised passengers of the train greeted the Governor, while the railway officials and the district officials welcomed her.
As soon as she arrived at the Yellandu guest house on the outskirts of the Kothagudem, she took a stroll on the lawns of the Guest House gardens and took two to three hours of rest and went to the Bhadradri temple to take part in the Pattabhishekam ceremony. Thousands of devotees greeted the Governor at the temple and enroute.
In the afternoon, the Governor performed the traditional Seemantham ceremony to the pregnant tribal women and highlighted the role of improving the nutritional status of the pregnant women so as to ensure healthy mother and healthy child. The Seemantham ceremony was organised by the Van Vasi Kayan Ashramam to promote the healthy motherhood and for the promotion and protection of the rich cultural heritage of the tribal people.
Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan, temple authorities, district administration officials, police officers, Indian Red Cross Society functionaries were among those who accompanied the Governor during her visit to the temple.
