Governor appeals to Red Cross to be part of flood relief operations

 Hyderabad, Aug 16: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday appealed to all the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) units and Red Cross volunteers to actively participate in the relief and rehabilitation services in the flood-hit areas of the State.

Expressing anguish over the heavy rains and flooding in different districts of the State, the Governor exhorted all the volunteers and Red Cross units to assist the authorities and support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation services being carried out.

Stating that the safety of every citizen is of prime concern, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan lauded the rescue and relief operations, including those by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), being carried out in the State.

The Governor appealed to the people to be cautious and take all necessary measures to avoid any risk.
