I compliment the Indian Army for their surgical operations against terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control. These operations are a part of the mandate of the Army to prevent infiltration of terrorists in to Jammu & Kashmir from across the Line of Control.
Indian has been repeatedly urging Pakistan to ensure that its territory is not allowed to be a hub of terrorist activities against our country. But, over the years, the whole world has witnessed how Pakistan has failed in this regard. As a result, peace in the south Asian region has become a major casualty.
The State sponsored terrorism emanating from Pakistani soil has emerged as a major concern not only for India, but for the entire region and the world.
India had been making all possible efforts to meaningfully engage Pakistan to ensure peace through dialogue. But that country continued with its policy of aiding, abetting and financing terrorists.
Our positive gestures were being reciprocated only through terror attacks from time to time testing the patience of the people and the government of India.
After the terrorist attack in Uri outraged the people of the country, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi reassured the nation that such condemnable acts will not be tolerated anymore and befitting measures will be taken to ensure the security of the country.
The operations last night by our army were a part of army’s responsibility of defending the security of our country by foiling infiltration of terrorists.
The people of our country are grateful to the Indian army for their vigil and for taking necessary action in countering terror designs from across the Line of Control.
We are a peace loving country. But it takes two to ensure peace. Pakistan should realise its responsibility towards ensuring peace in the region.
