C.M.KCR directed to complete the works of Yadadri Ultra Mega Thermal Power Project at the earliest

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that the projects such as the prestigious Yadadri Ultra Mega Thermal Power Project with a capacity of 4,000 megawatts, taken up by the  Telangana Government, will bring laurels to the entire country.  CM KCR made it clear that, in the interest of the welfare of the farmers and  Telangana people, projects like the Yadadri Thermal Power Project is undertaken in the public sector without succumbing  pressure from  private corporate people. The Chief Minister directed Minister Jagadish Reddy, Transco and  Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao and BHEL officials to complete the works of Yadadri Ultra Mega Thermal Power Project at the earliest. On Monday, CM KCR, ministers, united Nalgonda district MLAs, higher officials and public representatives inspected the works of the power plant which is under construction near Veerlapalem at Damaracharla mandal of Nalgonda district.

Accompanied by ministers, public representatives and officials, CM KCR reached the construction site of Yadadri Power Plant by two helicopters in the afternoon. From helipad, the Chief Minister reached to the construction site of Power Plant Phase-1, Unit-2 Boiler. CM KCR and ministers and officials reached the twelfth floor at a height of 82 meters and inspected the construction works of the plant.

The Chief Minister enquired of Transco and Genco and BHEL about the progress in the construction of the plant. Officials inspected the display boards set up about the power plant. On this occasion, CM KCR said that measures should be taken to ensure that the coal reserves required for the operation of the plant are at least 30 days. Since the power project is important, the authorities are advised to act proactively and take appropriate decisions in the case of other operations including coal reserves. The officials are directed to make arrangements for electricity connectivity from Yadadri plant to all areas including Hyderabad. CM KCR enquired about the daily requirement of coal and water supply to the power plant . The Chief minister  suggested that arrangements should be made to supply Krishna water for  water needs of  the project. CM KCR  said that Damaracharla area has been selected for the power plant with an intention of providing employment to the people of the erstwhile Nalgonda district keeping in view the Krishna Patnam Port and Addanki Highway. The Chief Minister ordered the for the construction of an magnificent township to be useful for approximately 10,000  employees  working in the power plant. The construction of required quarters for the staff should be constructed with all infrastructure. CM KCR said that since solar power plant will also be taken up in the same area in the future, the staff will increase even more and  facilities should be provided accordingly.

CM KCR suggested that one hundred acres should be acquired specially  for staff quarters and other facilities. 50 acres will be allocated for sports complex. The Chief Minister suggested to take up construction of supermarket, commercial complex, club house, hospital, school, auditorium and multiplex. Quarters should be constructed for  private service staff working in the  power plant. The CM ordered to use the services of the best town planners in the construction of the township.  CM KCR directed Secretary Smita Sabharwal to immediately sanction 7 kilometers of four-line CC roads from Damaracharla Highway to Veerlapalem Power Plant. The Chief Minister directed the officials to coordinate with the Railway Department for the construction of the ROB at the railway crossing as well as the expansion of the Damaracharla railway station.

Transco and Genco CMD  Prabhakar Rao explained CM KCR that the two units will be completed by December 2023 and the remaining units will be completed by June 2024 in the Yadadri power plant.   Prabhakar Rao told the CM that the construction of the power plant has been delayed for more than a year and a half due to Corona. The Chief Minister congratulated Transco and Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao on the progress of the construction of the power plant.

All the local problems will be  solved

CM KCR directed state Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy to solve the pending issues of farmers who gave land to Yadadri Power Plant and also those who contributed to the Sagar project in the past. Along with the local MLA Bhaskar Rao, Chief Minister, who had spent more time to receive petitions from the local people, directed the officials to take appropriate action on the spot. Ministers G.
