Amaravati, Aug 21: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said 12 per cent growth rate should be achieved. He said state achieved 10.5 per cent average growth rate for the past four years. He said Tirupati emerged as second safest city in the country. Tirupati and Vijaywada are ahead in most liveable cities tag.
Addressing secretaries, HoDs, district collectors through a video conference from secretariat today, the Chief Minister said officials should work with commitment to reach the targets. He said the available resources should be utilised properly. He said AP is ahead in Ease of doing Business for the past three years and the state bagged 511 awards in several sectors. He said providing better living conditions is the ultimate aim of the state govt.
The Chief Minister said officials should prepare vision documents to reach the targets by January.
Review on Floods: The Chief Minister conducted a review on heavy rainfall and floods in the state. The officials informed that the flood flow at Yerrakalva in Nallajerla mandal stands at 5000 cusecs, at Dowleswaram barrage 14 lakh cusecs and at Prakasam barrage 1.45 lakh cusecs. The Chief Minister directed the officials to arrange relief camps and initiate relief measures immediately. He said officials should assess crop loss in flood affected regions. The officials said by linking Krishna and Godavari 450 tmc of additional water available in the state. The Chief Minister praised the efforts of irrigation officials of Srikakulam district for achieving progress in irrigation projects.
The Chief Minister said of the total 965 tmc, 550 tmc water reached various reservoirs and there is a chance to fill another 415 tmc. He asked the officials to release water to Rayalaseema region from Potireddypadu and Handri Neeva.
Referring to agriculture, the Chief Minister said that officials should protect the standing crops. Scientists should organise awareness programmes to farmers on measures to prevent pest attack on corps.
Reviewing women and child welfare, the Chief Miniser said there was a drastic fall in infant mortality. He said nutritious food should be supplied to women and children. He said officials should take steps to prevent spread of disease.
He said plantation programme should be taken up in a big way to make the state as Haritandhra Pradesh. He said infrastructure should be developed in all schools and colleges. Skill development programmes should be organised for youth. He said youth should utilise Rs 30 cr allotted for each district for innovative ideas.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to make efforts to get more central funds. He said of the 52 central sponsored sches the state govt utilised Rs 8,921 cr and the amount should be increased. The Chief Minister said national river conservation programme, Prime Minister krishi Sanchayi yojana Swacha Bhara ission , Matru Vandan ojana, food security mission, Anganwadi services funds should be used more. He said under NREGS Rs 5133 cr used so far and the amount should be increased upto 12000 cr. He said under non CSS scheme 13000 cr utilised so far.
The Chief Miniser sid construction of 6.25 lakh houses completed so far and another 6 lakh houses should be completed by January. He asked the officials to start construction of 2.44 lakh houses.
