The 14th edition of Bio Asia will be held from 6th to 8th of February next year at Hyderabad. The annual event will be jointly organized by the Industries department in partnership with the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations and the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council.
The Minister for Industries, IT, MA&UD, Mining and NRI affairs Mr. K.T. Ramarao launched the website of Bio Asia 2017 (www.2017.bioasia.in) at the secretariat today. The Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce and Energy Mr Arvind Kumar, MD TSIIC Mr Narasimha Reddy were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said “Bio Asia, Telangana’s flagship event, has gained significant recognition for offering a unique platform for the convergence of business leaders, policy makers, investors, and scientific community from about 50 countries to network, share expertise & knowledge, and conduct business. This edition of Bio Asia with its theme “Power of the Past, Forces of the Future” resonates with the threshold at which the Indian life sciences sector is currently situated. Considerable progress has been achieved, but much more is needed to continue fueling the growth of the industry’”.
He said that Bio Asia presents a great opportunity to build key relationships, partnerships and channels which will enable to usher in the new era of the life sciences industry in Telangana, in India and in the world. We are looking forward to welcoming the delegates of Bio Asia 2017 in Hyderabad and are making every effort to make it a landmark event in the history”, the minister added.
Over the past few years, India has seen unprecedented growth in the Life Sciences sector both as a producer of medicinal products and more recently as one of the world’s most prominent market for healthcare products and services. The growth in the sector has been driven by significant investments and initiatives by both the public and the private sector. Given the multifaceted advantages across the Life Sciences value chain (R&D, Manufacturing and Commercial) supported by emerging regulatory environment, India has finally emerged. Now is the time for both local and global stakeholders to act together and leverage power of India to provide access to quality healthcare products to billions of people around the world.
